About the Video Blog

The Navy’s Operation Prepare campaign is designed to increase the individual preparedness of sailors, families, civilian employees, contractors, and anyone who spends time on or near a Navy installation for all types of hazards. This Video Blog was launched to engage members of the Navy family to share their knowledge and experience as well as motivate others to be informed, have a plan, and make a kit before a disaster strikes.

Operation Prepare is looking for video submissions to help us get the word out about the importance of being prepared. Individuals or families who have experienced an emergency situation (e.g., hurricane, wildfires, flooding) are encouraged to share their story. Also welcomed are videos featuring best practices, lessons learned, and general tips or information on how the tools and resources provided by Operation Prepare or other public sources have helped members of the Navy family be disaster ready.
